The collection opens with the poem "The Fall," which sets the tone for the rest of the book. In this poem, Kichloo describes the sudden and unexpected end of a relationship, using vivid imagery to convey the pain and disorientation he feels.
I fell through love Like a stone through water No splash, no ripple Just a silent descent
As the collection progresses, Kichloo explores the different stages of grief and loss. In "The Aftermath," he writes about the numbness and disbelief that follow the end of a relationship.
I am a ghost in my own life Wandering through the ruins Of what we once had
In "The Longing," he expresses the intense desire to reconnect with a lost love, even though he knows it's impossible.
I reach for you But you are gone And all that's left Is a void
But even in the midst of heartbreak and loss, Kichloo finds moments of hope and unexpected love. In "The Unexpected," he writes about meeting someone new who helps him to heal his broken heart.
Out of the ashes Of my broken heart A new love has bloomed
"Falling Through Love" is a powerful and moving collection of poems that will resonate with anyone who has ever experienced the pain of heartbreak or the joy of unexpected love. Kichloo's honest and vulnerable writing style invites us to confront our own experiences of love and loss, and to find hope and healing in the unexpected.
